Mallala Museum has recently reopened following the upgrading of the stairs in the Old Mill Building. This long awaited repair has made the upstairs gallery more accessible and brought the building to the required standard of fire safety. All agree its a wonderful improvement

On May 22 Mallala Museum &nbsp;celebrated History Month with an interactive portrayal of life in a rural community featuring farming, domestic and educational exhibits including the big red fire engine, penny farthing bicycle and a range of working exhibits.In the &nbsp;school the visitors were entertained with music and films of days gone by. Afternoon tea was also enjoyed in the north gallery as the rain began to fall.

The Mallala Museum is searching for any photo in which the '''Seven Stars Hotel''' at Redbanks might appear. Demolished in the early 1930's, nothing now remains of this once prominent building. On May 22 Mallala Museum  celebrated History Month with an interactive portrayal of life in a rural community featuring farming, domestic and educational exhibits including the big red fire engine, penny farthing bicycle and a range of working exhibits.In the  school the visitors were entertained with music and films of days gone by. A successful grant from HistorySA has allowed us to develop a digitising stand. This will enable large documents to be scanned and improve access to our image collection, by speeding up the scanning process.
