Jessie Kitto married John Bates at the conclusion of their service in WW2 in the Pirie Street Methodist Church Adelaide. Her beautiful gown was made of cream satin and displayed a long row of 35 covered buttons and material loops at centre back with a pretty paneling that fell into a long train. The bodice featured a front yoke with vertical pintucks decorated with crystal beads and the fitted bodice dipped to a V at the centre front. A Peter-pan collar complimented the look. The sleeves wee long and tightly fitted. It was an elegant style.
